The “Ome Kimono Museum” is a museum that holds more than 500 historical kimonos and materials, including daimyo, official residences and costumes of the former royal family from the Edo period. "Sawanoi Kushi Kanzashi Museum" is a museum of hair ornaments that mainly exhibits combs and hairpins from Edo to Showa. The collection of the well-known collector, Tomoyo Okazaki, is inherited all at once, and new items are added for display. It holds approximately 4,000 items such as combs and hairpins, redboard, hakosekoko, yatate, and wigs. The history of hair ornaments started in the Jomon period and developed greatly in the Edo period. Various methods at that time were used to express all phenomena such as Kacho Fugetsu, literature, and performing arts as a design. You can learn the craftsman's technique, traditional Japanese crafts that have colored women since ancient times, and the history of hair ornaments.
