West Cork is truly a world apart, seemingly remote from the constant hub of modern life yet discreetly offering quiet time to breathe in the freshest sea- salt air. In a landscape festooned with little ports, bays, inlets and harbours, the ocean is never more than a thought away! Bantry is a busy, bustling market town at the head of the famous and beautiful Bantry Bay is the heart of West Cork. It has a population of approximately 5,000. The main industries are tourism and mari-culture (Bantry Bay mussels are exported worldwide and the annual Mussel Festival held each May attracts thousands of visitors). Historic Bantry House and gardens are open to the public and the annual music festivals held in Bantry House bring thousands to the town each year.

This hiking itinerary enables you to explore the south west corner of Ireland. Considered one of the finest drives in the world, it is magical on foot, from rugged cliffs to golden beaches, small villages, green pastures, peat bogs and always picturesque mountain ranges.  You will see the “real” Ireland, away from crowds and only the sounds of nature to accompany you. This area was first settled around 300 BC by the people of Ciar – an early Celtic Tribe, and your holiday will immerse you in almost 10,000 years of dramatic history. Starting in Killarney near the magnificent Three Lakes you walk south to the heritage town of Kenmare, then through the old villages of Sneem and Caherdaniel before swinging westward with views of the monastic Skellig Islands Your route continues to Waterville – a favoured fishing location for Charlie Chaplin – through Caherciveen before finishing in Glenbeigh.  

This holiday gives a wonderful introduction to some of the remoter parts of the Ring Of Kerry. This hike will bring you face to face with nature at its best. Starting in the charming town of Killarney you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to Irish Traditional music. This 5 day Ring of Kerry hike takes you between the glorious Three Lakes Of Killarney and the ancient “passes”. You will be weaving between the mountain range of the McGillycuddy Reeks.   Starting from Killarney National Park and the beautiful Muckross House. Your hike follows into the Black Valley with views across to the well-known Moll’s Gap and Ladies View. From there you continue following a network of ancient paths that are nearly as old as the land itself. Following the Kerry Way to reach the northern shores of the Ring of Kerry with views across to the Dingle Peninsula. This 5-Day Holiday will be a highlight ensuring you have lasting memories of the beautiful Kingdom of Kerry.

There is so much to discover and conquer within ‘Dingle’ that it really has to be seen in all of its glory to be believed.  Because of its remote location – and lack of specialised agriculture – it is steeped in ancient Irish history and spectacularly shaped by the ravages of the Atlantic Ocean.  As you hike the Dingle Way (also known as the Kerry Camino) you will leave the county town of Tralee & follow to the southern shores to reach Dingle Bay, the magnificent Inch Beach and on to Dingle town.  Your return journey back to Tralee, takes you to the northern shores with the impressive Brandon range of mountains beckoning you as you discover more of the remarkable history that this land is so famous for.  We invite you to lose yourself in this magnificent landscape and make memories that will last a lifetime.
