Rotterdam Zoo (Diergaarde Blijdorp)

Blijdorplaan 8, Rotterdam, Netherlands, 3041 JG

The Basics

Rotterdam Zoo is large, and it’s worth devoting at least a half-day to fully explore. Wander the grounds and spot rarely seen creatures such as geladas (grass-eating monkeys) and okapis (forest giraffes) in spacious enclosures designed to mimic natural habitats. Time your visit to attend one of the zoo’s animal feedings, bird flying demonstrations, and zookeeper meet and greets—all of which are free for ticket holders. Check the schedule on the day of your visit for details.

Very beautiful Zoo, we are impressed that we could see different habitats with happy animals and many species. Pity, the raining push a bit the limited time and we couldn't visit all around, but that was not a inconvenience to enjoy.

A zoo to visit!

Rotterdam Zoo Diergaarde Blijdorp Direct Entrance Ticket
Having only done a little research into the Zoo, I had a big surprise on arrival. Although the main entrance looks a little run down, the zoo itself is fantastic and is easily comparable to Chester Zoo in the UK. The biggest difference between the two is Rotterdam zoo was empty! Majority of the time we were at an enclosure there was no one else around!
