The Basics

A visit toPorto Cathedral (Sé Catedral do Porto)is essential to understand the history of Porto, one of Europe’s oldest populated centers. The church dates back to the 12th century and work continued into the 16th century (not counting later baroque and 20th-century additions), accounting for the varied architectural influences. Travelers can take a half-day river cruise tour stopping at the cathedral and many other main city monuments. A tuk tuk tour of Porto is another way to avoid uphill walks.

A wonderful experience!
Our guide, Jão, was a local who loved his city and told us so much about it’s history, the architecture, and people. We learned so much and saw areas that tourists wouldn’t normally trek to. It was such a treat.

Porto: Small Group City Tour Full Day with Lunch, Wine Tasting & Cruise
This tour was a nice, comprehensive trip around the city. The guide, Francisco, was informative and very friendly , and even though the tour was given in two languages, he never missed a beat. I wasn't impressed with the lunch, though the boat ride and free time by the river were wonderful. All in all, an enjoyable day.

Porto Hop-On Hop-Off Tour with Optional River Cruise and Wine Tasting
À few stops were closed or not available. And the driver was not keen on telling people. The descriptions by the audio guide could be better.

3-Hour of Porto Highlights on a Electric Bike - Guided Tour
This is a great way to get an overview of the best sights of Porto. The bikes are easy to ride and it’s fun to get around on two wheels. The guides are knowledgeable and they do a good job explaining the history of some of the important sites. The only challenge is that the streets of Porto are very narrow and it can be tricky to navigate. Overall I highly recommend it.

Vintage Tour (city of Porto)
Ana was our tour guide and was amazing!! Very accommodating, on time, and professional! We received so much knowledge of the history of the city. We had multiple opportunities to stop at different places throughout the tour for the most beautiful picturesque backdrops. We also had a few minutes at each location to view. This was our favorite tour whilst in Portugal!! Can’t wait to come back and book again!!
