The Basics

Book skip-the-line tickets to save time at the perennially popular Louvre or attend with an art expert guide for a more in-depth visit—art lovers and novices alike will benefit from such insight. Private tours are a good option for those with specific interests, while audio guides are also available. Alternatively, combine the Louvre with stops at the Eiffel Tower, Montmartre, and Notre Dame Cathedral.

Highlights of the antiquity section include the Seated Scribe and Venus de Milo. From the Renaissance, don't miss famous works by Michelangelo, Raphael, Botticelli, and Titian. French 19th-century masterpieces include Gericault's The Raft of the Medusa and the work of David and Delacroix.

Informative tour
Violetta is an experienced and knowledgeable guide. She kept our group together and explained many things about the venus, mona Lisa, and other famous French artist. We saw all the di Vinci paintings in the Louvre. Very informative. Excellent English speaking Francophile!

Louvre Museum Skip-the-Line Guided Tour with Venus de Milo & Mona Lisa
Our Tour Guide Nancy was warm, welcoming, and lots of fun. She also gave us history on the Louvre as an introduction, which was perfect, guided us through highlights that brought us through the evolution of art and made the Lourve masterpieces accessible and enjoyable with her vast knowledge of art history. A fabulous experience.

Louvre Tour for Kids & Families with Skip-the-line Tickets & Must-See Pieces
Wonderful experience with a super knowledgeable tour guide. The guide met us outside on time. She was so professional and had a vast knowledge of the Louvre's history and art. It was my 9 year old daughter's first time in Paris and to the Louvre and the guide did a great job of navigating the museum, picking key art pieces (Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo) and explaining in a way my daughter could comprehend. Thanks to our guide and we will find her again when we visit again!

Louvre Essential Private tour
If you are privileged to have Olga as your guide you will have an experience to remember in the Louvre. She is detailed oriented and knowledgeable as well as kind and gracious. Days later you might here her quiet voice once again reiterating a detail of the many paintings and sculptures she introduces you too. Excellent private tour!!

Skip the Line: A Day in Paris with Louvre Reserved Access Ticket & Cruise
The Louvre museum IS GREAT. It is the worth seeing it, especially the Mona Lisa. The cruise is nice, you get information about some bridges and some building, but the hop on hop off bus is a better way to do this. The cruise will give you an unique sightseeing.

Paris in One Day with Louvre and Eiffel Tower Guided Tour plus Seine Cruise
Absolutely worth the price to do this tour. We had a small problem finding the initial meeting spot, but once we were there everything was amazing! We loved being able to skip the line into the Louvre and being guided to the important works. The Seine cruise was nice and we got a voucher to hop on/off for 24 hours. We loved the Eiffel Tower and being able to go up to the second floor- really nice photo opportunities! I would recommend this tour to anyone who doesn’t have a lot of time in Paris

Louvre Museum Small Group English Guided Tour
We really enjoyed our small group tour. Our guide told us some interesting facts on how Louvre started and how it evolved into what we know today. She also took us to the most important rooms, this was key because we had very limited time! It was entertaining for everyone in our group (ages 17 to 50) and to the point. Would highly recommend.

Underrated Artworks at the Louvre

Most visitors flock to the Mona Lisa, but the Louvre is so much more than da Vinci's moody muse. Make time for Ingres' Grande Odalisque, an 18th-century nude; the cheeky 16th-century Gabrielle d’Estrées and One of Her Sisters; and a Goya classic—The Countess del Carpio. You can even explore the ruins of the fortress upon which the Louvre is built.
