Faith Tour, Knowing Santa Catarina Juquila
The beautiful landscapes, forest, moutains, streams and rivers that we pass to arrive to Juquila are really enchanting. It gives us an opportunity to see the real side of Oaxaca, Mexico. On our trip we will be learning about the Chatino culture, a civilization that lives in Juquila and it's surrounding mountains. At our arrival we will visit the Cathedral and go into Juquila's main part of the town to appreciate the culture, gastronomy and people. We will be walking around the city and then we will head to the "Pedimento" a place where we create molds with red clay. Here we can get creative with our desires and designs, it is said that you must create a mold with the desires that you have and place it in the pettition center. Millions of followers come visit everye year from North to South America. The history is outstanding and the landscapes are breathtaking. Don't forget to bring a sweater for the cold.

Ancestral cooking class with market visit
You will be in a rural Zapotec Community, especially indigenous villages, households still depend heavily on these foods with few changes in how they are grown, mostly on small plots. The cooking here retains much of its indigenous flavor, such as dishes prepared without fat (unknown before the arrival of the Spanish) and the use of the valley's abundance of vegetables and herbs especially in its moles. You can have a taste of Mole, Tamales, food is basase in Native corn ans in local products.Various insects are consumed in the state including ants and grubs from maguey plants but the best known of these is grasshoppers, called chapulines.Grasshoppers that are consumed are collected from corn and alfalfa fields. They are semi-domesticated, living longer and reproducing at higher rates than those living in wild areas. The most common way to eat them is fresh off the comal and with a tortilla.
