The Basics

Eze’s tiny size means it’s often relegated to a pit stop for those heading east to Monaco or west to Cannes and St.-Tropez, but the medieval village can also make a quieter base to explore the glitzy resorts along the coast. A full- or half-day tour from Nice, Cannes, or Monte Carlo often includes nearby villages such as St.-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Menton, or La Turbie.

Monaco, Monte Carlo, Eze, La Turbie half day from Nice small-group tour
Enjoyed the half day tour immensely. It was great to be in a minibus with 7 people including the tour guide rather than on a coach. Eze Village was stunning. Beautiful scenery.

Eze and Monaco Private Half-Day Tour
We were recently (Sept 2021) in Nice for a few days and decided one evening that we should try to book a “spontaneous” tour with a driver/guide. My husband and I were traveling with another couple. Our driver was Mago!! What a Wonderful day! Mago is Fantastic - he is very informative, funny, and makes you feel very comfortable. We truly felt that we had known him for a long time. Would Love to tour with Mago again next time we are in Nice!

Monaco, Monte Carlo, Eze, la Turbie Full-Day from Nice Small-Group Tour
We ended up having a private tour because we’re the only one who booked for the day. Off season is best if you prefer less crowd but it won’t guarantee a good weather. Best to have this tour during summer time. Our tour guide Yani was on time and very accommodating. He even suggested which spots to go to in Old Nice City. Overall this tour is a must if this will be your first time to visit Monaco.

Monaco, Monte Carlo, Eze, La Turbie half day from Nice small-group tour
The tour guide was terrific! She had lots of great info on all locations we visited. She was friendly, patient and very organized. We saw way more than I thought we would in the 1/2 day! I highly recommend this tour and more specifically our guide. We enjoyed it so much we booked another half day trip to St Paul de Vence with Viator.

Great time. Ingrid was wonderful. I don’t want to say more. Asking for a minimum words is very annoying. Only doing this for Ingrid

Monaco, Monte-Carlo, Eze Half-day from Cannes small-Group and Shore Excursion
We booked this tour as our day excursion while on our Mediterranean cruise. We had a great 1/2 day tour. The town of Eze was lovely, fresh air and beautiful scenery. Enjoyed the perfume factory as well. Was a little disappointed that we missed the changing of the guards in Monaco. Monaco was absolutely stunning and the clean, opulent as you would imagine.

Eze is well worth seeing. Enjoyed going there. Skip the perfume factory if you can. Saw as much of Monaco we could see in a short amount of time. I would recommend this tour.

Eze Monaco and Monte-Carlo - private and Guided Half Day Tour
We were a group of 12 and it was difficult to book a tour for our size party. Our previous tour was cancelled just a day before we departed and luckily we booked this tour. Our guide Anthony Cannon was amazing! He was knowledgeable and flexible with our requests. He picked us up from the port at Cannes and we had plenty of time to visit Monte Carlo, Monaco and Eze. I highly recommend this private tour. Thanks Anthony!

Things to Know Before You Go

  • Bring comfortable shoes to navigate the steep lanes and cobblestones of the Old Town.

  • Eze’s medieval streets can sometimes be a challenge for wheelchair users, so it’s best to check ahead for wheelchair access to hotels, restaurants, and attractions.

When to Get There

Celebrities, jet setters, and sun-seekers flock to the French Riviera in spring and summer, and Eze sees a steady stream of tour groups passing through. To avoid the crowds, get there early or stick around after the tour buses have left. Those wanting to soak up the atmosphere of popular events like the Cannes Film Festival or the Monaco Grand Prix will find Eze a good place to escape the masses, although be aware that accommodation, flight, and tour prices can soar during these busy months. Out of season, Eze is equally charming, but check ahead to ensure that hotels and attractions are open.

A Sightseeing Tour of Eze

Eze’s principal attraction is its attractive Old Town, centered around the majestic ruins of a 12th-century castle, and it’s easy to explore on foot. After admiring the medieval architecture, stroll around the Jardin Exotique and admire the exotic blooms of the stunning gardens, hike down to the beaches of Eze-Sur-Mer, or take a tour of the famous Fragonard perfume factory.
