Casino Lisboa
The Basics
The Casino Lisboa, including the Grand Lisboa expansion, is a Macau landmark. Gambling is a popular draw, but even visitors who aren’t feeling lucky will find something to do within the complex, which includes 14 restaurants (four with Michelin stars), clothing and jewelry boutiques, and a spa. The free Crazy Paris Show cabaret has been entertaining visitors for more than four decades. Many day trips to Macau from Hong Kong stop at this historic casino.
Things to Know Before You Go
The Casino Lisboa is a must-see for those interested in the history of Macau.
You don’t have to be a hotel guest to enjoy the casinos, restaurants, and shops of the Casino Lisboa.
The casino and nearly all businesses within accept major credit cards.
How to Get There
The Casino Lisboa and neighboring Grand Lisboa are located in the Central Business District next to the Praca Ferreira Amaral, the main bus stop in Macau. It’s within easy walking distance of several other hotels and attractions, including the Wynn, MGM, and Mandarin Oriental.

When to Get There
While the Casino Lisboa almost always has something going on, a trip to Macau wouldn’t be complete without seeing the building illuminated at night. If you want to see the free cabaret show, performances begin early in the afternoon.
The Story of Stanley Ho
Stanley Ho, Macau’s “King of Gambling,” built Casino Lisboa in the 1960s. Gambling had been legal in Macau since the 1850s, but it wasn’t until Ho began building his gaming empire that Macau gained its reputation as the Las Vegas of Asia. Ho maintained a gambling monopoly in Macau until 2000. His company, SJM Holdings, still owns more than a dozen Macau casinos.
