The Basics

Many tours offer a visit to this now closed property as part of a Beatles-focused itinerary, along with other nearby landmarks such as Mendips and St Peter’s Church. Taxi and bike tours both offer intimate access to the location, where you can pose for pictures next to the iconic red gate, read dedications etched into the iron and surrounding brickwork, and tread the ground once frequented by Lennon himself, all those years ago.

Amazingly knowledgable guide!
Our guide had such a wealth of knowledge about The Beatles and really personalized our tour for us since we were a small group.

I found this a very interesting museum. I didnt know the history of Strawberry Fields. Having some Elvis memorabilia was a personal enjoyment too. The gardens are beautiful and being able to listen to John Lennon as you walk round the gardens was very tranquil. I would and have recommended this as a must visit. My husband and I will certainly visit again.

Jean was amazing. Despite the rain and crowd, she gave us a great feel of the origin and the story of the Beatles from its origins to now. The 90 minutes tour is a disservice and go all the way. So worth it.

My wife is an avid Beatles fan and she thought our tour guide, Jean, was great. The statues of them in front of the Museum in Liverpool was great and the tour through the Museum of both John & Yoko was outstanding.

Rob is the best tour guide. He is not only a Beatles expert but I also liked other Liverpool historical facts that he shared. He went above and beyond for us. It was raining the whole day but we enjoyed the tour tremendously. We are planning to bring our parents next year and request for Rob again.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • The Salvation Army is working to reopen the building to the public, but at the moment visitors can only stand at the locked replica gate.

  • Save time and hassle on a tour that includes a number of suburban Beatles attractions.

  • A visit to Strawberry Field is a must for Beatles enthusiasts.

A Piece of Strawberry Field, Forever

To raise funds for the redevelopment of the site, individual bricks from the original building were sold to fans across the world. John Lennon’s sister, Julia Baird, served as honorary president of the project.
