Cave Tour with a local Native Guide
11
While vacationing or a short visit by cruise ship on Bonaire, visitors will want to take advantage of the opportunity to discover the island’s cave, consisting of an estimated 400 caves. Since their formation, the caves have played an important role in the island’s overall ecosystem. Some caves are open for guided tours. Explore ancient formations of stalactites and stalagmites that took thousands of years to form. While adventuring through select caves, continue through the cavern and find a small opening of water where visitors can snorkel. Climb through the opening with your flashlight, mask and snorkel, and snorkel through crystal clear water that is a mix of fresh and salt. It is important that when visiting the cave it should be with a Certified cave guide & operator.
You will be visiting 3 of the awesome caves here on the island together with a Native or Local tour guide. We will be picking you up at the port where the ship is or at your hotel or apartment. Transportation from and to your accommodation is cover
The caves are located on the North side of the Island. One at the entrance of Santa Barbara and one just down the road at a place called Hill Top we will stop at the second cave. Around this areas is rich in caves.
The first Cave we will be visiting have a ladder that you will have to climb down to get into the Cave. When you are in the cave there will be bats and a lot of special rocks.
When you are in the cave you will see a lot of type of lime stones as you can see on the pictures and some of the rocks look like they have gliders on them because when you shine your light or flashlight on it they start shining.
If you like cliff jumping, we will be visiting a small and low cliff jumping after the cave tour. It is very fun!!!! :) The cliff is not high at all and every one can jump from it :)

Local Native Guided Tour, Indian's Tour
On this tour an experienced guide will lead you to the wildly beautiful East side of Bonaire.Often missed by tourists, the east side of the island has breathtaking views of crashing waves hitting the rocky coast, cliff-like cave corals, “bocas” or mouths of the sea, and unobstructed views.Numerous boats ship-wrecked on this side of the island before a lighthouse was put in place and there’s proof that at one point native Indians inhabited some of the cliff coves.
Your guide will take you to one such cove and show you Indian inscriptions that are believed to be markings of the Arawark Indians. They have been dated back to at least the 15th century.
Our next stop will be Boca Onima where you can feel the power of the waves surging against Bonaire’s shore and view the wind turbines that play a crucial role in supplying energy to the land. Just be sure to hold on to your hat!
Throughout this journey, your guide will be pointing out nature, history and telling you about Bonaire culture.

Donkey Sanctuary Tour with a Local Native Guide
On this hour long tour you will experience Bonaire's Donkey Sanctuary - a habitat that was created to rescue donkeys needing extra care, food and water. You will interact with the donkeys throughout the drive as they regularly "say hello" and attempt to put their noses through the car window! At the sanctuary you can also purchase a few carrots to feed a few lucky donkeys while on your visit.
At the sanctuary you will also see a few other things. The Special Care Unit is an area of the sanctuary where we will learn about the services provided to bring a distressed donkey back to health. You can also visit the garden where you will see local plants, tortoises, and iguanas.
Climbing up the watchtower will give you a great view of the entire sanctuary and a nice photo opportunity. We'll round out our visit with a refreshing drink and snack from the terrace where you can spot some beautiful pink flamingos over the salt lake.
