Highway Chetumal-Pto. Juárez, Tulum, Riviera Maya & the Yucatan, 77780

The Basics

Xel-Ha offers ample opportunities to enjoy Mexico’s warm Caribbean waters and abundant animal life. Swim through underground rivers, cliff-jump into a cenote, traverse a floating bridge, and snorkel in lagoons filled with tropical fish, sea turtles, and manatees. On land, you can zipline above the canopy, rock climb, bike, or stroll through the jungle.

Day trips to Xel-Ha typically leave from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Riviera Maya. As the aquatic park is just five miles (eight kilometers) from Tulum, some Xel-Ha excursions also include a tour of the ancient Maya city. Xel-Ha is part of a network of related parks and experiences, including Xcaret, Xplor, Xplor Fuego, Xenotes Oasis Maya, Xoximilco Cancun, Xichen, and Xenses. It’s possible to book packages that include admission to multiple parks.

We loved every second of our trip! We did dolphin swimming, cenote snuba, and a sea trek, finished off with a lazy river through the mangroves. Best day of our entire trip!!! (We spent $430 USD for the three activities, two people, worth EVERY penny)

Fantastic experience! The views were amazing, everyone was attentive. The fact that food and open bar is included makes it worth it alone! Do all the activities and have a good time.

The park was absolutely gorgeous and very very clean. All of the staff were friendly and nice. My only suggestion is that they should provide disposable masks to guests at the restaurants. It was really a pain to walk to and from lockers to get our masks and then put them back each time we wanted something to eat. You put your masks in the lockers for all of the water activities since you can’t swim in them. On a hot day, walking back and forth so much for masks was just a pain. Also, “all inclusive is very enticing” but the food and drinks are only in the central area, which we weren’t near very often. Whenever we were, there was always a long line to get anything to drink...and this was after walking to and from the locker to get the masks. They would give you as many drinks as you wanted, but who wants warm beer or melted drinks? It would be nice if they had a few more drink stands located throughout the park. For how little we ate and drank, the all inclusive didn’t matter much. The air conditioned bus ride was nice, however; from Cancun it was 2 hours there and 2 hours back. Would only do this again if staying in Play Del Carmen or Tulum area. We were starving and thirsty on way back!

Well organized Tour Company. The place itself- XEL HA- was excellent. Nature at its best. All the activities were well organized.

We went March 2021. It was magical. What an amazing experience. This is a must visit if you are in the area. The breakfast/lunch was VERY good. Even though it was buffet , it was all served by staff due to covid. I enjoyed every minute. They have tons of places that you scan your bracelet and it takes a picture for you. This is helpful so you can enjoy your time and not carry around your camera. They even take under water pictures with fishes. At the end of the day all the pictures in your party is scanned and you can purchase them for 60.00. This is very reasonable compared to other places and being able to have pictures of you and your family enjoying the day.

Swimming and snorkeling were fun because the water was warm and there were enough fish to see. There weren't as many colorful fish as you might see in Hawaii, but it was still fun. Food was good, but they ran out of hamburgers and that was disappointing. Drinks tasted great but there wasn't much alcohol in them. Everyone was friendly and not pushy to sell additional experiences. There was enough to do with what was included. Lockers and facilities were excellent. Water slide wasn't as scary as it looked. View front top of tower was fantastic.
