Clearbottom Mangrove Kayak & Snorkel tour
97
Our mangrove glass bottom kayak & snorkel tour begins at the lovely beach from Lac Cai. The Bonaire Mangrove reserve is located in Lac Bay National Park. Visitors can only enter the mangroves in the company of an experienced nature guide. Your stable, glass bottom sit-on-top kayak is equipped with a comfortable backrest seat, a waterproof bag for your personal belongings and, of course, paddles. Off you go, into the calm waters.
The glass bottom kayak provides an ideal mode of transport in this beautiful and tranquil environment, as you manoeuvre with ease through the mangrove shallows and tunnels.
Gliding by four different species of mangrove trees in crystal-clear waters, paddling past bird habitats and fish spawning areas, you'll learn of the relationship between the plants and the animals. The snorkel location offers a great variety of marine life and is considered by many a must-do while visiting Bonaire!

Donkey Sanctuary Tour with a Local Native Guide
On this hour long tour you will experience Bonaire's Donkey Sanctuary - a habitat that was created to rescue donkeys needing extra care, food and water. You will interact with the donkeys throughout the drive as they regularly "say hello" and attempt to put their noses through the car window! At the sanctuary you can also purchase a few carrots to feed a few lucky donkeys while on your visit.
At the sanctuary you will also see a few other things. The Special Care Unit is an area of the sanctuary where we will learn about the services provided to bring a distressed donkey back to health. You can also visit the garden where you will see local plants, tortoises, and iguanas.
Climbing up the watchtower will give you a great view of the entire sanctuary and a nice photo opportunity. We'll round out our visit with a refreshing drink and snack from the terrace where you can spot some beautiful pink flamingos over the salt lake.

A Tour to the South
11
The tuk-tuks are 3-wheeled scooters which seat 4 adults. They are the eye-catchers of our fleet and we lost count of the number of people who wanted to have their picture taken while sitting in the tuk. Please bear in mind that the tuk-tuks may be not the right choice for you if you are very tall, over 200 lbs (100 kg) or if you have knee- or hip problems, as you will be sitting with your knee above your hip. In such a case we advise to book one of our big tuks.
Our tuks are electric, emission-free and quiet! You will enjoy the natural airco of Bonaire, the prevailing Northeastern tradewind, as the tuks are open-air. As a bonus, you can take beautiful pictures right from your seat without that annoying reflection of windows. Join us for the best tour you have ever had!

Local Native Guide Tour Mangrove/Flamingos
1
The mangrove forest of Lac Bay is one of the best preserved mangrove forests in the Caribbean. For generations this lush, green environment has served as a home and incubator to native fish, baby rays, lobster and seahorses. The bushy and beautiful trees and their deep, webbed roots, protect Bonaire from extreme weather conditions. In fact, it’s rumored that they’re strong enough to withstand the wind and water to the point of slowing a tsunami!
The mangroves are a series of narrow channels that are covered by natural canopies made by the bending of the mangrove trees that house birds, fish and clean the water. For centuries fisherman and tourists have been visiting, kayaking and exploring this area of rich waters. Historically, they also provided means to make household items and played an important role in the fishing community, which you will learn about on this tour.
While driving south to the Mangroves, your guide will inform you about the history and sites of Bonaire.
