The Basics

Visit the cemetary to see the grid of thousands of graves that mark the soldiers’ final resting places. After paying your respects, you can walk to the reflecting pool and the chapel, which have maps that detail the events of D-Day.

After visiting the memorial, head to the edge of the bluffs to look out over Omaha Beach to see the narrow strip of sand where the soldiers landed. The nearby visitor center displays items the soldiers carried with them—from ammunition to good luck charms—as well as first-hand accounts recorded by veterans.

Would definitely recommend!
We were pleasantly surprised by this trip. I wasn’t sure of how much we would be able to accomplish during the time there, but the tour was extensive. They gave us ample time at each stop. Seeing the American cemetery was an amazing experience. And getting to have some time at the city center in Normandy, was beautiful. Our tour guide was very impressive, and she pointed out things constantly on the tour.

Normandy D-Day Beaches & American Cemetery Trip from Paris
Clean bus with appropriate stops. The guide had a nice overview of the upcoming sites and pre and post status in WWII. Also made a good lunch recommendation. Additionally, the Juno beach site was great and I was not aware of all there was at that site.

Guide was knowledgeable and sweet. The bus ride was long but the bus was new, clean and comfortable. The driver didn’t speak English but he communicated great.

Normandy American D-Day Beaches Full Day Tour from Bayeux
We enjoyed this small group tour of Utah and Omaha Beaches and saw St Mere Eglise along with the D-Day museum and American Cemetery. We had two guides who were just getting back into swing after a 2 year pandemic shutdown. Good info and we stopped for lunch at the Roosevelt. The only downside was the COVID plexiglas barrier in the van made it almost impossible to understand the guides while driving. Otherwise a good tour that finished with Taps being played at the Cemetery. Very moving.

Our guide made it very easy for us as a family. My younger kids have limited attention spans and she did a great job of keeping a good pace while not trivializing a really important and complex topic

Normandy American D-Day Beaches Full Day Tour from Bayeux
Brad was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a wonderful experience. The whole day was spent learning fascinating details about each place we visited. We were able to visit places that are normally inaccessible to the general public. He went above and beyond to get us to the cemetery in time for the evening flag ceremony. All in all a very positive experience. Highly recommend!
