We enjoyed the day at De Palm. A lot to do. It wasn’t very busy so felt quieter and very relaxed. Took some pictures by the Flamingos. The water slides were fun. Enjoyed a banana boat ride. So much all included.

A fun day

The ocean colors are incredible- the activities on De Palm Island, the water slides and banana boat rides add to this all day excursion. The snorkeling area is pretty rough and requires a full body suit or you can get shredded by the coral- the water is too shallow and current strong. Do not go in or out too far if your legs are exposed- the staff was not helpful in explaining or helping you avoid those most shallow spots. My legs and son’s legs got shredded 🙁 With Covid, they stopped offering brunch & that was disappointing, we got there at 10:45 and of course my teenagers hadn’t eaten first and were grouchy. They don’t provide towels- I guess I missed that in the overview. If you drive yourself you get to stay on the island an additional 45 min. vs. taking their shuttle, which stops at every hotel and takes forever. I think the price is too high. This was our second time/trip to Aruba and to De Palms Island, I only rescheduled this b/c my kids said they really enjoyed the experience the last time. The two beach areas are pretty small, last year it was not enjoyable because it was too crowded- with Covid restrictions and simply less people we could enjoy the beach area, get a lounge chair and swim; when they fully reopen-

Nice and clean. Very knowledge staff. Plenty of fresh food and drinks. Lots of shade, and cover. Huts for rents for 4-8 people if needed. Very short boat ride from the pier.

Things to Know Before You Go

  • Beach chairs and palapas are available, but you should bring your own beach towel.

  • The coral island makes a great snorkeling spot but is tough on snorkelers’ feet; bring water shoes.

  • The kids’ corner offers kids activities, typically on weekends only.

Blue Parrotfish at De Palm Island

Snorkeling trips, right off the beach at De Palm Island, give big payoff, with views of abundant underwater life within the snorkeling area. Of particular interest are the native blue parrotfish, found in most of the Caribbean but particularly in Aruba. This vibrant blue fish makes for excellent underwater photo ops.
